It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Geraldine Irene (Downey) Swim of Rockland at Carleton Manor in Woodstock on Monday August 11, 2025, at the age of 92.

Born in Peel NB on January 25, 1933, to the late John (Jack) and Myrna (DeLong) Downey.

She is survived by her children Bunny (Bill) Sherwood, Wanda (Murray) Crouse, Joan DeLong, Louie MacIntosh, sister, Diane Downey, brother John Downey, sister in law Connie Downey, several grandchildren, many great grandchildren, several Niece and Nephews.

Besides her parents. She was predeceased by her husband Philip Swim, daughter Cathy Swim, son Rex MacIntosh, son in law Wayne DeLong, sisters, Fern (George) Johnston, Wilma (Manson) Rideout, Thelma (Ronald) Carter, brothers, Reid (Mildred) Downey, Raymond Downey, Peter Downey and brother-in-law Lorne Foster.

Geraldine enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting and quilting, she loved to bake for her neighbors.

The family would like to extend thanks to the wonderful staff at Hotel Dieu Hospital in Perth as well as staff at Carleton Manor for the wonderful care she received well a patient and guest there.

Keeping with Geraldine's request, no public visitation or funeral service will be held, a private family interment will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Coldstream.

If so desired, donations can be made to the Hillside Cemetery Fund in her memory.
