It is with much sadness that we announce the death of Ervine (Junior) Lorne Delong of Woodstock, who passed away on Wednesday October 27, 2021 at the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville at the age of 85.

Junior was born February 7, 1936 in Waterville NB to the late Harvey and Gertrude (Taylor) Delong.

He is survived by his daughter Vera Delong,Daughter in Law Rhonda Grandchildren, Christopher, Catherine (Mitch) and Caitlin, Great Grandchildren Owen, Denver, Destiny, Lily, Hunter, Ellie, Haley, Wyatt  along withseveral Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Besides his parents, Junior was predeceased by his first wife Dora Hamilton, second wife, Irene McElhinney, son Kendall Delong, son James (Burger) Hamilton, Sister Myrtle, Brothers Maxwell, Burton, Hilston and Elmer.

Junior was a trucker by trade and work many years for Day & Ross, receiving his 2,000,000 accident free mile award in 1995. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone and give the shirt off his back.

Junior could also be found working around the funeral home, both for The MacMullins and then at Carleton Funeral Home.

Later in life he took up a bench at Carleton Mall usually on a daily basis, where he was sure to tell a story or two. He was a social butterfly and loved to go out to eat and could be found at Murry's or Dixie Lee.

The family would like to give a heartfelt Thank You to Doctor Todd Arseneau and all the nurses at the Upper River Valley Hospital for their care and understanding.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 from Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville NB from 4 to 8 PM.

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, proof of both vaccinations and 2 government issued ID's must be shown to access funeral home and masks are mandatory.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday October 30, 2021 at the Woodstock Rural Cemetery, Houlton Street at 2PM with Pastor Michael Horseman officiating.

In Lieu of Flowers, Donations in Junior's memory can be made to a charity of donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
