It is with much sadness that we announce the death of Elsie Charlotte (Bidwell) Lawrence on Sunday August 13th, 2023, at Carleton Manor at the age of 96.
Elsie was born in England on July 21, 1927, to the late Charles and Veronica (Wilson) Bidwell.
Elsie was predeceased by her 1st husband Vaughn Delong in 1977 and Donald Lawrence in 2021 as well as her sister Hilda and sister-in-law Janet Sherman and brother-in-law Lynn Lawrence.
Elsie is survived by her Brother John Bidwell, Stepchildren Robert (Shelley) Lawrence, Terry (Lynn) Lawrence, Shirley (Joe) O'Grady and Weldon Lawrence, Step Grandchildren Todd, Bradley, Kevin, Ashley, Claire, Connor, Eatham, Alexander and three step great grandchildren, Maddie, Hudson, and Eva.
Also, sister-in-law Helen Martin, Inez Benefield, Wilma (William) Outz, Brother-in-law a Allison (Susan)Lawrence, Harold (Judy) Lawrence, several Nieces and Nephews.
Elsie met Vaughn Delong in 1944 and they married in 1945, she came to Canada as a war bride. Elsie worked at Hatfield Potato Chip factory in Hartland. In 1950 they moved to Ontario and Vaughn passed away in 1977.
In 1992, Elsie married Donald Lawrence and they moved back to New Brunswick where they have resided until their death.
Elsie loved to read, and she was very fluent with todays technology using her tablet to chat and email friends. She also enjoyed sewing and knitting as well as gardening.
Elsie loved to travel especially going back to her home country of England.
Visitation will be held on Friday August 18th at St Luke's Anglican Church from 12:30 to 1:30PM PM, with Service at 2PM, Canon Walter Williams officiating , Interment to follow at Wilmot Baptist Cemetery.
If so desired, donations can be made to the St Luke's Anglican church or to a charity of donors choice.
