Ellen Patricia
Webb
July 11, 1940 – January 21, 2021
It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Ellen Patricia Webb, the only child of the late Charles H. Webb and Marion F. (Hayden) Webb. Patricia passed away peacefully at the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville, NB, on Thursday, January 21st, 2021. She was 80 years of age.
Pat was born on July 11th, 1940 at the L.P. Fisher Hospital in Woodstock. She lived her whole life in her family home on Elm Street in Woodstock, before moving to the Women's Institute Home on Chapel Street three years ago, due to failing health. Having never married, living without children of her own, Pat nurtured close relationships within her church community, family and friends in Woodstock and at Skiff Lake, where her family owned a summer cottage.
Pat attended Fisher Memorial School, Netherwood School for Girls, in Rothesay, and finished her education at the Carleton County Vocational School in Woodstock. For several years, she worked part time at Mrs. Finnie's Kindergarten on St. John's Street. Throughout her life, she would remember fondly her students there.
Pat was a lifetime member of St. Luke's Anglican Church and a member of St. Luke's Guild. She participated actively in the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch in Woodstock, marching with them on Remembrance Day. Pat's father was serving overseas, with the Carleton York Regiment during World War II when she was born in 1940.
Pat loved to swim, walk, and skate in her younger years. She learned to drive at a later age and loved to visit her friends at the LP Fisher Library.
We would like to thank the Staff of the WI Home, the doctors and nurses at the Saint John Regional Hospital, and Dr. Anderson and her medical team at the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville, for their care and compassion for Pat.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be no funeral or visiting for Pat at this time. A Memorial service is being planned to be held at Christ Church Parish Church in Lower Woodstock, where Pat will be buried beside her parents.
Donations can be made in Pat's memory to the Women's Institute Home in Woodstock, the Anglican Parish of Woodstock, or the Carleton Animal Shelter.
Arrangements are under the care of the Carleton Funeral Home & Crematorium 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville, NB
