Eleanor Thelma DesRoches, 84, of Woodstock, NB, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at The Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville, NB. Eleanor was born in Woodstock, NB on March 7, 1928, daughter of the late Donald and Tilley (Hamilton) Atherton.

Eleanor is survived by her husband; Francis (Frank) DesRoches, children; Robert Dewitt (Sandra), Jacksonville, NB, Diana McIntosh, Woodstock, NB, Louise Boone (Larry), Woodstock, NB, Pam Orser (Dale), Woodstock, NB, Sharon Andries, Woodstock, NB, step children; Mary Schoffield (Tom), Joseph DesRoches (Elizabeth), Edward DesRoches (Kelly), Tracy Hood (Marty), Raymond DesRoches, Tammy Michaud (Tim), grandchildren; Randy, Jeff, Laurie, Lisa, Danielle, Stacey, Allison, Karen, Michael, Tammy, Chris, several great and great great grandchildren, sisters in laws, Joyce Atherton, Doris Atherton, brother in law; Ed Dewitt, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Eleanor was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Besides her parents; Eleanor was predeceased by her first husband; Thomas Dewitt, son; Tommy Dewitt, daughter; Carol Godsoe (Robert), son in law; Richard McIntosh, brothers; Earl Atherton, Ronnie Atherton, step children; Owen DesRoches (Linda), Marty DesRoches.

Visitation will be held at The Carleton Funeral Home 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville on Tuesday, May 15 from 3:30 to 5:30 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 16 from St. Gertrude's Roman Catholic Church Woodstock at 11 AM. Interment will be held in the Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a memorial of the donor's choice.
