Obituary

Eileen (Chapman) Rivington passed away at Carleton Manor in Woodstock, NB on October 29, 2016 at the age of 86.  Eileen was born in Nottingham, England on May 15, 1930.

She married Keith Ian Rivington, also of Nottingham, on Aug 13, 1952 and in August of 1957 they immigrated to Canada with their two daughters.

Eileen was a homemaker and mother to her five children.  She provided stability and security to the family as they moved across Canada on engineering projects, first to Montreal, Quebec, which remained their home base for many years, and on to Newfoundland, Alberta, (twice), Nova Scotia, and Ontario, until finally settling in Fredericton, New Brunswick in 1983.

She had a free spirit, and was always ready for the next adventure, but her heart remained in England. She had a quick wit and was an avid reader, and had an infinite knowledge of English history. Keith called her "a font of useless information" but he greatly admired her intellect and they would lovingly place bets against each other and she invariably won.

Her twelve grandchildren had a special place in her heart, and even in her later years, as memory failed her, she could still recall all of their birthdays.

She was truly loved by her family, and she will be deeply missed by her five children, daughter Susan Ryan (Richard) of Woodstock, NB and daughters Genevieve and Jillian, daughter Jill of Calgary, AB and children Ian and Marisa, son Neil (Patricia) of Vancouver, BC, and sons Keifer and Tyler, son Thomas (Micheline) of Woodstock, NB and children Abby, Isabelle, and Jack and son Bruce (Sherry) of Fredericton, NB and children Gavin, Gracie and Owen.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date with family.

Eileen will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in Wilfred Cemetery in Nottingham, England.
