Edith Harriett Charlotte
Jamieson
Jan 2, 1920 — Aug 18, 2013
Edith Harriett Charlotte Jamieson passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 18, 2013, in Bissett Court, where she had resided for the past five years. Born in Petworth, England on January 2, 1920, she immigrated to Canada through Pier 21 in April, 1945 as a War Bride with one child and raised 10 more children. After living on a family farm in Royalton, NB, the family moved to Windsor in 1969.
She is survived by children, Alan (Sheila), Roland (Pam), Jacqueline (Richard DeMerchant), Malcolm (Lois), Roberta (David Sparks, deceased), Roy (Susan), Michael, Derrick (Lynn), Peter (Roberta), Martin (Judy); together with 20 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by husband Robert; infant son, Delbert; and four sisters, three brothers.
Her interests were always focused on her family, but her genteel, polite and non-assuming nature endeared her to all who came to know and care for her. Many thanks to the doctors, nurses and caregivers in recent years, and especially those at Bissett Court, and those who visited with her.
She has been placed in the care of Dartmouth Funeral Home 29 Queen Street for cremation, from where visitation will be held on Thursday, August 22 at 7 PM. Private burial will take place at a later date in Woodstock, NB.
Family flowers only and donation may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Capital Health Foundation, or charity of choice.
