Extending our condolences to the family of Douglas George McCarty of Swan's Special Care Home in Harvey and formerly of Plaster Rock.

Doug was born in Plaster Rock on February 25,1950 to the late Bruce and Zena (Munn) McCarty.

He is survived by his sister Lynn McCarty-Brown (David), brothers Paul (Corrine), Merrill (Maxine) McCarty, special nephew Paul Kent-McCarty, and several Nieces and Nephews.

Besides his parents, Doug was predeceased by infant brother Eugene, niece Tiffany.

Doug grew up in Plaster Rock and had numerous jobs, he worked at Plaster Rock Co Op store and Wright & Everett and Johnny Giberson's lumbering.

Doug was a great storyteller, he loved the Tobique, he loved the river, and the people of the Tobique

Visitation will be held at Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville on Sunday November 23 from 1 to 2 PM, with service to follow at 2PM in the chapel with interment in Plaster Rock Community Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family have requested donations to the Harvest House Plaster Rock in his memory.
