Douglas Blair
Mackenzie
May 14, 1957 – February 28, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Douglas Blair MacKenzie on February 28th, 2026, in his 68th year.
Doug passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love. By his side were his devoted wife of 34 years, Belinda, and his family, while his favorite singer, Charlie Pride, played softly in the background.
Belinda was the love of his life. Together they shared many adventures throughout the Maritimes during his proud retail management career before settling down in Woodstock.
Doug treasured family gatherings and the time he spent with his grandchildren, who brought him so much joy. Music was one of his greatest passions, and he loved sharing it — singing, making up silly songs, enjoying karaoke, or simply listening. He was, above all, kind and loving, a steady and reassuring presence to everyone around him.
Doug was a fierce volunteer who served on the Board of Directors for the Provincial Easter Seals Foundation and was involved with Anavets, where he became an honorary member. Over the years, he quietly supported his community in many other ways, always willing to lend a hand wherever it was needed.
Doug is survived by his loving wife, Belinda; his children, Vanessa (Ryan), Andrew (Natasha), Blair, Kara (Colin), and Laura (Scott); his cherished grandchildren, Kira, Noah, Kingsley, Lillianne, Fiona, Lilly, Logan, and Lucas; and great grandchildren, Thomas and Calvin. He is also survived by his brother, Gary (Lois) and several nieces and nephews.
Doug was predeceased by his father, Frampton; his mother, Louise; and his sisters, Ina, Valerie, and Diane.
A special thanks to Dr. Gordon McDonald, Dr.Doyle, nurses Krista, Cassondra, and Doug's caretakers — Carlia, Velvet, Margaret, Louise, who supported Doug with great care and much compassion during his last journey.
A greeting will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 1 p.m., with a service to follow at 2 p.m. at Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville Road, NB, E7M 3S5.
