Doreen Williams Dunbar, (nee Gibson) of Woodstock, NB, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at The Carleton Manor Nursing Home, Woodstock, NB. Doreen was born in London, England on July 8, 1925. A veteran of the British Army, she was assigned to radar plotting division of a heavy artillery unit and served in England, France, Germany and Belgium.

Doreen married Franklin Grant (Scotty) Dunbar December 15, 1945 in London and came to Canada aboard the Aquatania where they were reunited after being separated by travel arrangements.

She was predeceased by all immediate family in England, husband Franklin Grant Dunbar, daughter Andrea Jane, brother in law Henry Lloyd Dunbar, sister in law; Doris Bonnell, Adeline Scott, Frances Wishart, nephew Andrew Glen Wishart and niece, Heather (Dunbar) McGaughey.

Survived by sons; Ian (Sharon), Bairdsville,  Stuart (Anne), Grand Falls, daughter; Constance, Woodstock, grandson; Scott Henry Dunbar (Betty Sawyer) Richmond Corner; Rachel Ann Dunbar-Doucette (Joseph), Florenceville, Eva Laura Belle Dunbar, Hartland, Janet Elizabeth Martin, Halifax, great grandchildren, Ethan Scott Doucette, Ava Grace Dunbar, Claire Olivia Dunbar along with various other nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held at The Carleton Funeral Home 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville on Friday, August 30 from 7 to 9. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 31 at 4:30 PM from The Carleton Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held in the Woodstock Methodist Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation, Woodstock Food Bank or to the Carleton County Animal Shelter.
