It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of David Darrell Phillips of Woodstock NB on Satuday August 14,2021 at the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville.
Darrell was born March 13, 1942 to the late Walter and Phyllis (Duncan) Phillips in Woodstock NB.
Darrell is survived by his dear long-time friend, Shirley Delong, special friend Kimberly (Stevon) Delong as well as close friends Dana (Lisa) Delong, William Delong and Peter (Charmaine) Delong.
Darrell is also survived by one brother Reginald and a loving sister in law Wanda and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents Darrell was predeceased by sister Ruby, and Brothers Everett, James and Billy.
Darrell was an avid gardener and thoroughly enjoyed time spent with his blossoms and blooms. He was a very well read man who liked a wide variety of books, including poetry and anything with an Amish setting or history related. He enjoyed tinkering and fixing little projects. He could often be found doing some paintings of wildlife or sceneries and in his younger years enjoyed carving and whittling.
Darrell also enjoyed his TV time, especially shows like Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy, which he watched faithfully until Alex Trebek became ill. Darrell could often answer a majority of Jeopardy questions whether it be about a river, a president, an animal, song or musician, Darrell could answer.
Darrell knew the words to hundreds of songs and quite often we heard him singing along to his old favorites.
He was very proud of his Scottish heritage.
