Daniel Hanford
Lockhart
January 10, 1948 – March 12, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Daniel Hanford Lockhart of Woodstock, New Brunswick on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at his residence.
Daniel was born on January 10, 1948, to the late Clifford and Margaret (nee Browning)
Lockhart. Besides his parents, Daniel was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Richard, one sister Alice, a brother-in-law Stephen, two sisters-in-law Muriel and Donna, and a special grandson Tyson Jeremy Greene.
Daniel, most often referred to by his family as Grampie Dan, is survived by his loving wife of
39 years, Joan (nee Fish), a son Leigh (Tammy), 4 step-daughters Cheryl, Tracie (Tim) Greene, Tanya (Tim) Fox, and Tara (Peter) Ketch. Grampie Dan loved his family, especially his 10 grandchildren: Macie, Sidney, Aaron, Tyler, Tanner (Maria), Taran (Madelaine), Drew (Brad), Laiken, Kohan and Kali, and 3 great grandchildren: Marlow, Kaden and Austin, two sisters Carol (Ray) Anderson and Lee Longstaff, two sisters-in-law Polly and Beatrice and brother-in-law Dennis, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In early years, Daniel worked as a mechanic at the local Texaco. He later hung up his tools and put on a tie to sell for various car dealerships in Woodstock, including Fox Chev and Valley Honda. In recent years, Daniel was often seen outside in the driveway putting a new shine on various cars. His exceptional attention to detail sent the customer away feeling like they were driving a new car.
Visitation will be held at the Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road, on Wednesday March 19, 2025 from 5 to 8PM. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday March 20, 2025 at 11AM from the Carleton Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will be held at a later date at the Upper Knoxford Cemetery.
