Clayton Wiles Porter, 91, of Canterbury, NB passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at The Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville, NB. Clayton was born in Meductic, NB on April 12, 1918, son of the late Wiles and Inez Porter. Clayton is survived by his daughter; Judy Porter, grandchildren; Meghan, Dylan, Elisha, brothers; Paul and George, sisters; Velma and Clara, step children; Richard and Ola Wright, Oras and Bev Wright, Marle and Avis Wright, Bertha Wright, Vera Acker, Darrel Wright, Nellie Wright, several step grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Clayton was predeceased by his wife, Pearl (Nicholson) Porter, son in law, Stanley English, step children; Rosco Wright, Joyce Wright, Otis Wright, and Bertha Wright. Visitation will be held at St. Mark's United Church, Canterbury, NB on Sunday, August 9 from 5 to 8. Funeral service will be Monday, August 10 at St. Mark's United Church at 2 PM with Rev. Bev Brazier officiating. Interment will be in the Meductic United Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Mark's United Church or to the Canterbury Fire Department.
