Carol Anne
Flemming
May 9, 1937 – August 26, 2025
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Carol Anne (Welsh) Flemming on August 26, 2025, at the Upper River Valley Hospital. Carol was born on May 9, 1937, in Toronto, to John and Anne Welsh.
Carol is survived by her husband, Paul, son Dean, daughter Andrea, grandsons Aaron and Trevor (Dalanie) Clinkenbeard, sister Valerie (John) Coffin, sisters-in-law Jo Bustard and Jane Findlay, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by brothers-in-law Carl Flemming, Alton Bustard, and David Findlay.
Raised in Montreal, Carol moved to Green Road, NB when she married Paul in 1964. Carol graduated from the Montreal General Hospital and McGill University nursing programs. She was a nurse at Boston Children's Hospital and both a nurse and nursing instructor at Carleton Memorial Hospital. For many years, she helped Paul manage Flemming's Mink Ranch. A dedicated community volunteer, she was involved with St. John's United Church (Mackenzie Corner), LP Fisher Library Board, Sanctuary House Board, Girl Guides, and Debec Elementary School as a literacy tutor. She loved reading, music, art, travel (especially to Europe and her grandsons), and word puzzles.
The family would like to thank the staff of Upper River Valley Hospital for the excellent care and compassion shown to Carol.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville, N. B. Visitation will take place at Carleton Funeral Home on Sunday, August 31 starting at 2 p.m. with funeral service following at 3 p.m. Internment will take place at St. John's United Church cemetery, Mackenzie Corner.
If desired, donations in Carol's memory can be made to Sanctuary House, McKenzie Corner & Area Cemeteries Committee (contact Carleton Funeral Home or call 277-1091 or 277-6508), or a charity of the donor's choice.
