Obituary

Brian George Stevenson of Woodstock NB a retired provincial health inspector passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the Upper River Valley Hospital. He was born in Toronto on July 27, 1952.

Brian worked in numerous places across Canada. He spent a number of years working in Thompson Manitoba and Iqualit before coming to Woodstock in 1992. In his younger years he also worked as a child and youth councillor for emotionally disturbed children.

Brian had many interests and after retiring enjoyed travelling in his RV throughout Canada and the USA. He had a profound love of music and loved playing guitar. He had a wealth of knowledge and loved sharing that knowledge with others. He had a gift of telling stories and also loved to cook. His wonderful meals were enjoyed by all who knew him. He also enjoyed riding his motorbike and scuba diving.

Brian is survived by his wife, Deborah (Brown- McKay) Stevenson, mother, Anne, son, Garick Stevenson (Lindsay), daughter, Rhiana Metherell (Todd), brother, Glenn Stevenson, nephews Sean and Ryan, all of Ontario. Stepson, Greg McKay (Jennifer), grandchildren, Justin and Meghan of Fredericton NB.

Brian was predeceased by his father, Arthur (George) Stevenson.

By request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at The Carleton Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, May 11, 2015 at 2 PM with Fr. John Keoughan. Interment will be held at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
