Berit Torbjoerg Stokes, 76, of Woodstock, NB, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2008 at the Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville, NB. Berit was born in Sander, Norway on March 29, 1932, daughter of the late Tosten and Magnhild (Kvernstuen) Sander. Berit is survived by her children; Lynwood (Donna), James (Lorna), Susan Melanson (Paul), Brian (Paula), Greg (Betty), all of Woodstock, NB, eleven grandchildren, one great grandchild, brother, Harold (Linda), sister, Marit, sister in laws, Elma, Muriel, Marguerite, nephews, John, Sheridan, several nieces, nephews and cousins, and a good friend Annie Kimball. Besides her parents, Berit was predeceased by her husband, George, two infant children, brothers, Ole, Torgrim, Thorsten, sister, Marie, and a sister in law, Winnifred. Visitation will be held at The Carleton Funeral Home 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville on Sunday, August 24, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 25, 2008 from The Carleton Funeral Home Chapel at 2 PM. Interment will be in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery.
