With much sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Arnold Frederick Smart on February 27, 2024 at the Upper River Valley Hospital.

He was born in Lindsay, NB on May 14, 1938 to the late Fred and Jennie (Ives) Smart.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years Louise (Johnson) Smart, daughter Laurie Smart, daughter-in-law Patricia Sleigh, grandchildren Morgan Burns (Nick), Kimberly Smart (Brad), and Nicholas Smart (Meghan), great grandchildren Cadence and Coda Burns, Alex and Taylor Cochrane, Hunter, Gage, Kael, and Brett Smart.

He was predeceased by his son Wayne Smart and brother Raymond Smart.

Arnold began working for NBTel straight out of high school and stayed there until his retirement 42 years later. He enjoyed photography, reading, and relaxing near the water where he could watch the wildlife.

Respecting Arnold's wished there will be no public visitation or funeral service at this time.

A private family graveside service will be held at Kirk Cemetery in the spring.

If desired, donations can be made to the Kirk Cemetery or a charity of the donors choice.
