Ann E
Mclellan
October 17, 1953 – April 24, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we share news of the passing of Ann Elizabeth McLellan of Newbridge on April 24th, 2026, at her home at the age of 72.
She was born in Woodstock, New Brunswick on October 17, 1953 to the late Clifford and Marion (Cluff) McLellan.
She is survived by her siblings Shirley (Dale) McBride, John (Carol) McLellan and Richard (Lisa) McLellan; step-daughters Carrie (Steve) Shannon and Darcey (Randy) Christie; brothers-in-law Tom Shannon and Jerry Veysey; sister-in-law Doreen (Gary) Tingley; nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Her grandchildren - Brandon, Dylan, Jordan, Sydney, and Quinn - who called her Nana, were her most cherished blessings and brought her immeasurable joy and happiness.
Besides her parents, Ann was predeceased by her partner Sterling Shannon, brothers James and Ronald McLellan, sisters-in-law Patricia (Riley) McLellan and Donna (Shannon) Veysey and brothers-in-law Winston and Raymond Shannon.
As our family's living library, family wasn't just a part of life; it was everything. While her meticulously organized photo albums gave us the faces of our past, it was her steel-trap memory that gave those faces a voice. This also meant that she never missed the date of a special occasion, ensuring that everyone close to her felt celebrated and remembered through her carefully chosen words.
She will always be remembered for her unwavering generous nature and commitment to her friends, family, and community. She was the first to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it and never expected anything in return. She was the silent strength behind our successes and the soft place to land during our hardships. To know her was to love her.
She shared countless fond memories about her travels around the world, but her favorite place on earth was Skiff Lake, New Brunswick. She could be found tending to her beautiful flowers and hummingbird feeders, checking items off her to-do list, or in the kitchen. If she got wind of company coming, there was always a batch of beans, brown bread, and a sweet treat.
While she leaves a void that can never be filled, she also leaves a map for how to love one another fiercely and without condition.
Ann's family is deeply grateful to the caregivers, especially Sheena, Bonnie, Lynn, Kirk and Sheri, who brought comfort, dignity, and warmth into her days. Their gentle presence, thoughtful gestures, and genuine care meant more than words can fully express. To those who cared for her so tenderly, thank you for being a source of peace and light when it mattered most. Your compassion will never be forgotten.
Following the Eastern Star Service at 3:30pm, visitation will be held at the Carleton Funeral Home on Monday April 27th from 4pm-7pm.
A funeral service will be held at St James United Church on April 28th at 2pm with a reception to follow.
A private interment will be held at Woodstock Rural Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St James United Church in her memory.
