Andrew Ivan
Parker
August 4, 1965 – November 21, 2023
Andrew Ivan Parker was born on August 4, 1965 in Woodstock, New Brunswick. He passed away peacefully on November 21, 2023 after a long, well fought battle. Andrew spent his life dedicated to his family, friends and community. Andrew had a wonderful competitive spirit, and channeled that into sports. Early in life, Andrew was an avid hockey and baseball player and loved spending time on the golf green. As he got older, Andrew used his love of sports to give back to his beloved community and began to coach. He couched hockey for thirty-one years, including his cherished son and daughter. He and Carla then opened their home to Junior A players from the Woodstock slammers and made many wonderful memories. The Parker house was always open to anyone, they never turned anyone away and many young people from various teams felt the warmth created in their home.
Andrew had a beautiful life and was a family man through and through. He had room in his heart for everyone, and was a hero for his wife Carla, son Ryan and daughter Madison. He always took the time make sure everyone left a smile, even if they disagreed on the best NHL team, which is of course, the Boston Bruins. Andrew could be found, smiling ear to ear, with his family, at the golf club, the rink, or on his snowmobile with friends.
Andrew survived by his loving wife, who never left his side, Carla, son Ryan (Jenn), daughter Madison (Alex) and loyal furry best friend Bentley. He had two big brothers Larry (Cathy) Parker and Hal (Rita) Parker as well as many supportive sisters in-law, Sheila Elsliger (Barry), Charlene Chatterton, Janet Gallagher (Ken) as well as his brother in-law, Earle Liston (Barb). Andrew was part of a beautiful big family and survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins, especially those of the Parker, Hayden, Fream, Kinney and MacFarlane families, including his aunt Greta Fream one of the beautiful McBride matriarchs. Andrew was predeceased by his Mother and Father, Irma and Donald Parker, his father in law Robert McFarlane, and special cousins David Fream, Brian Hayden and Amanda Hayden.
At Andrews request there will not be a visitation or funeral service, but rather a Celebration of Life. The Celebration of his beautiful, full life will be on Saturday, November 25th from 1-4 at the Woodstock Golf Club.
Donations in Andrew's honour can be made to the Woodstock Minor Hockey Association, Upper River Valley Cancer Society or a organization of the donor's choice.
