Andrew Allan Campbell was born on September 10, 1968 in Woodstock, New Brunswick to parents Howard and Rosemary (Tisdale), and proud older siblings Michael and Carolyn (Mark Gervais). Andrew embraced the farming lifestyle he was born into, it would become a lifelong passion. As a child, when he wasn't helping out on the farm or honing his skills with the local 4H group, he was "trying to stay out of trouble" with best friend Travis MacDonald. The two formed an inseparable bond that truly lasted a lifetime.
Andrew possessed a keen sense of curiosity about the natural world around him and anything mechanical. He grew into a walking encyclopedia of biodiversity, and a sort of "MacGyver" of engine repair. If it had an engine and needed to be fixed, Andrew could work his magic and get the job done. In 1991, he graduated from the Maritime College of Forest Technology in Fredericton, NB. The skills he learned from this program would come in handy for the rest of his life when doing what he loved best- exploring nature. The forest and the river were his happy places.
Andrew's proudest accomplishments were his children, who will remember him for his insatiable appetite, his borderline inappropriate jokes, and his embarrassing talent for picking up women everywhere he went. His curious spirit and infectious smile will live on through all four of them: Melissa (Dennis) Mbeba, Taylor (Nick LaForest) Campbell, Timothy (Emilie Côté) Campbell, and Kristin Campbell. (We love you, Dad.)
In the last chapter of his life, Andrew became known as Grandrew to his three biggest fans, Naphtal, Elijah, and Andre. The wonderful memories he created with his grandchildren will stick with them for life. He made sure of that.
Andrew/Grandrew died peacefully on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at the Upper River Valley Hospital at the age of 53. He is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and acquaintances who will miss him dearly. Andrew was a welcoming and accepting man, with love for all living beings. He left his mark on the hearts of many and will never be forgotten.
Public visitation will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 1 to 3 PM at the Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville. A public graveside service will follow at 4PM at the Greenwood Cemetery in Hartland. In Lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Local 4H Club or Meduxnekeag River Association.
