It is with broken hearts and sadness that we announce the passing of Alvin Leo Springer of Waterville on Wednesday June 24, 2026, at the Upper River Valley Hospital at the age of 90.
Alvin was born in Waterville on July 24, 1935, to the late Fred and Lulu (Boyle) Springer.
Alvin is survived by his loving wife, Connie (Brewer) Springer, daughters, Luann (Averil) Adams, Alice (Peter) Hyslop), Beverley (Brian) Melvin, son, Sterling (Lori) Springer, sixteen grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, sister, Delores Palmer, brothers, Bill (Sandra) Springer, Winston (Barbara) Springer, Weldon Springer, sisters-in-law June Springer , Patrricia Springer, as well as many Nieces and Nephews and extended family members.
Besides his parents, Alvin was predeceased by his son Mark Springer, brothers, Milton (Peggy) Springe, Donald (Emma) Springer, Gerald (Januita) Springer, Robert Springer, Delbert Springer, sisters, Geraldine (Gordon) Everett, Carolyn (Ronald) Kearney, sister-in-law Carol Springer and brother-in-law Joseph Plamer.
Alvin was born and raised in Waterville and made it his home where he lived and worked the farm growing potatoes and raising beef cattle In his early years, he always enjoyed a trip to Howard Brook to the camp for some fishing and hunting.
Visitation will be held on Monday June 29th at Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville from 1 to 3PM, followed by a graveside service at the Waterville Baptist Cemetery at 3:30PM.
Special thanks go out to Janice Drost, Extra Mural nurses and the doctors and nurses of the Upper River Valley Hospital for their excellent care of Dad.
