Obituary

On Wednesday, January 1, 2025, Allan Wilfred Shingler passed away peacefully, at Upper River Valley Hospital. Born on October 15, 1947, in Galt, Ontario, Allan was the son of Wilfred Shingler and Margaret (Stevenson) Shingler.

From a young age, Allan exhibited a passion for sports, gymnastics, and excelling in motocross at a professional level. The GM of AYR for Barrett Marketing Group, GM of Gilford Boats & Trailers, and procurement management of Barrett Xplor. His dedication to his work was evident to all who knew him.

Beyond his professional life, Allan was a man of many talents and interests. He had a deep love for carpentry and gardening, often spending his weekends crafting and cultivating. His family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent boating, sailing, camping, and watching hockey with them. Known for his sharp sense of humor and vast knowledge, Allan was a source of wisdom and laughter for his loved ones.

Allan is survived by his devoted wife, Catherine (Barrett) Shingler; his sons, Gregory Shingler (Kirsty of Brockville, Ontario) and Maxwell Shingler (Natalie of Woodstock, New Brunswick); and his cherished grandson, Marshall. He also leaves behind his sisters Norma Barber, Karen Cavalier, and David Shingler. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Margaret, and his brothers-in-law, Roger Cavalier and Jim Barber.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville, New Brunswick. A private service for family will follow at 2:00 PM officiated by Pastor Craig Woodcock.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Society in Allan's honor.

Allan's legacy of love, laughter, and craftsmanship will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
