Alfred Nelson Poitras, 61, of Quaker Brook, NB, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB. Alfred was born in Woodstock, NB on December 17, 1950, son of the late Claude and Edna (Foster) Poitras.

Alfred is survived by his daughters; Melanie Poitras (Jean Marc LaBonte), Quaker Brook, NB, Vera Ann Poitras (Clifford Foster), Beacons Field NB, Shawna Verburgh (Dave), Fredericton, NB, Lisa Barrett (Gary), Woodstock, NB, son; Alfred Poitras JR, Quaker Brook, NB, ten grandchildren, sisters; Lorain Thomas, Lansdowne, NB, Sheila Poitras, Saint John, NB, Tressa Poitras, Saint John, NB, brothers; George Poitras, Saint John, NB, Pat Poitras, Fredericton, NB, Billy Poitras, Woodstock, NB, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Alfred was predeceased by a brother, Richard and a sister, Suann.

Resting at the Carleton Funeral Home  where friends may call on Thursday  December 22  from 2-4, 7-9 PM . Funeral Service will be held on Friday Morning at 11 am from the Funeral Home Chapel with Father John Keoughan officiating. Interment will be at a later date in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery.
