Adam Jay
Bustard
June 6, 1984 – October 12, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Adam Jay Bustard on October 12, 2024.
Born on June 6, 1984, in Oakville, Ontario to Peter and Patricia Bustard. The family later moved to Woodstock, NB, where Adam graduated from Woodstock High School. During his time at WHS he worked on the set crew for various musicals, where he discovered a talent for construction. Adam pursued his red seal designation through NBCC and worked in the local home building industry as the crew lead for CNB Builders. In recent years, Adam took on the challenge of returning to his alma matter in the temporary role of instructor, where he thrived. Adam was a natural teacher, with endless patience & the ability to not stress out over the little things. Two skills that came in especially handy in his number one job as Dad to four of the greatest kids ever! Becoming a father was Adam's proudest achievement in life, and his children were his entire world. He relished the opportunity to relive childhood through their eyes and took great joy in sharing his favourite experiences with the kids. Adam was the dad who made a simple walk to the brook out back become a wonderful adventure. He had a love of animals that had him asking "can I pet that dawg?" on the regular. He was at his most content on a cozy couch covered in kids and dogs, watching movies with the family.
He is survived by his four children Cameron, Nova, Chandler & Kynlee Bustard. Their mother, best friend and long-time partner, Candice Browse. His parents, Patricia & Peter Bustard. Sister Jennifer (Tarryl) Jarvis, and her children Chloe Kennedy & Rueley Jarvis. His many Aunts & Uncles – Deborah Bustard, Cathy (Robert) Murphy, Valerie (Garnett) O'Donnell, Angela (Lee) Dow, Clark (Susan) Bustard, Sharon Bustard-Smith, Pam Bustard, Carol Adcock (Tim) Mitra and many cousins.
He was predeceased by his grandparents Noel & Lena Bustard, Hugh & Wendy Adcock, Uncle (& Godfather) Lee Bustard, Uncle Allison Bustard, and Cousin Sarah Mitra.
Although those of us who are left to mourn are struggling with saying goodbye so soon, we know that Adam would not want us to wallow in sadness and be telling us to "do better". In that spirit, the family would like to invite Adam's friends & colleagues to join us in a 'celebration of life party' on Saturday, October 26th (5:30pm – 08:30pm) at the Richmond Corner Community Centre to share memories of Adam.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville NB.
