Winona got her wings at the Elisabeth Bruyere Palliative Care Centre on Thursday December 11th, 2014 in her 81st year following a short battle with brain cancer. She will be missed but remembered lovingly by all who had the good fortune to know her. That includes her husband Douglas, her son Jordan and his wife Janice, her daughter Marilyn (Lyn) and her husband JP, grandchildren Eva, Jenna and Patrick, her wonderfully supportive 'YMCA' family and many life-long friends.

Winona was predeceased by her parents Murray and Stella Briggs of Briggs's Mill, N.B.

She received her RN at the Saint John General Hospital in 1956 and her degree in Public Health Nursing from the University of Ottawa and spent a very rewarding career in that profession. She often said that her early years in rural N.B. prepared her well for this very satisfying vocation.

Funeral service will be held at The Carleton Funeral Home Chapel 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville NB on Tuesday, December 16 at 11 AM with Rev. Deb Baker officiating.
