KURTLUYAN, Sima (Sonya) - With deepest sadness, our beloved Mom, Sonya, from Meductic, passed away on Sunday, June 4th, 2017 after a very sudden illness.  She was a true Angel on this earth, always smiled no matter what she went through in her life. She was my Hero.

Born on March 3rd, 1928, in Istanbul, Turkey she passed away at the Upper River Valley Hospital after five days being admitted.

She was 89 years old. Mom was born to the late Andon & Takuhi Kurban in Istanbul. She was the third child among five children.

Mom was predeceased by her husband Rober and her three years old daughter Seta.

Mom also was predeceased by her three sisters, Sophie, Margrit and Florans (only 6 months ago) and one brother Petri.

Sonya is survived by her daughter Santui Zilcan and her son in law, Gabriel Zilcan whom she adored, two Grand Sons, Robbie Zilcan from Enfield, Halifax and Roy Zilcan from Enfield, Halifax. Mom was their second Mom since their birth.

She was always proud of them and enjoyed each of their visits home.

Sonya is also survived by her son, Jake (Agop) Kurtluyan.

And also nieces Nadya, Adeline Christine, Katerina, Takuhi and a nephew, Kerope.

By request, there will be no visitation, cremation was Mom's choice.

Interment and grave side service will be held at Christ Church Anglican Cemetery at Woodstock River Road at a later date.
