Emma McIntosh

Emma Pearl McIntosh of Clarkville, NB entered into Heaven’s Gate on August 15, 2010 at York Care Centre, where she has resided for the past three months. Emma was the youngest daughter of the late Albion and Laura (Sharpe) Hallett of Nortondale, NB and widow of the late Lorne J. McIntosh. Loving mother of Allison (Marion)McIntosh of Clarkville, Lorraine (Harland) Cook of New Maryland, Phyllis (Gary) Spencer of Fredericton, Linda (Beverly) Parlee of Apohaqui, sister of special brother Harry (Irene) Gilks of Alban, ON, cherished grandmother to eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two brothers Eldon (Alice) Hallett and Earl (Mary) Hallett; three sisters Luella (Harry) Prosser, Mary (James) McIntosh, Florence (Ralph) Trail, also infant great-granddaughter Courtney (Parlee) Cook.
Hard working all of her life, Emma enjoyed gardening, preserving fruits and vegetables from her garden and tending to her many beautiful flower beds. When sitting, her hands were busy knitting, crocheting, or making many quilts. All of these became gifts for her family.
After her children were grown, she went to work at the Carleton Memorial Hospital as a seamstress, and later the W.I. Home and Stiles Motel as their cook. She attended the Maple Ridge Wesleyan Church.
Her short stay at York Care Center was not only rewarding for Emma, but the staff enjoyed her kind and loving manner. They are the angels here on earth.
Visitation will take place at Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Rd, Jacksonville, on Tuesday August 17 from 6-9 pm. A funeral service will be held at the Carleton Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, August 18 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Wayne Blinn officiating. Burial will be in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery. Suggested memorials are to the NB Lung Association, or to a charity of the donor’s choice. www.carletonfuneralhome.ca
